I am Corey “OBE” Coleman — creator and innovator of the legendary comic series Shaolin Moorz.
What began as a vision in 2015 has evolved into a fully realized creative universe. From the ground up, I built a team and cultivated this project into the powerful visual experience you see today. Shaolin Moorz is more than a comic — it is a movement dedicated to cultured, ethnic graphic novels that blend diverse traditions with a modern, anime-inspired edge.
Born and raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, I grew up wanting to see characters in anime who looked like me — heroes that reflected my culture and identity. At a time when diversity in the genre was limited, I knew representation mattered.
During my early college years, I lost my sense of direction. Through trial, error, and deep self-reflection, every road led me back to my first love: art. As I reconnected with my African and Indigenous roots and deepened my spiritual understanding, I experienced a vivid creative vision — a world that would later become Shaolin Moorz.
This journey has shaped me through lessons, failures, growth, and evolution. It taught me what it means to live authentically and create from a place of balance and purpose.
Through my work, I aim to inspire others to look within, uncover their unique layers, and reclaim their power. The world needs more authenticity — and each of us carries untapped potential waiting to be expressed.
Shaolin Moorz exists to restore balance through storytelling, culture, wisdom, and art.
Grateful to share this gift with you.
